After getting into college, students usually start to live and study independently. Away from the care and supervision of their parents, they are left to make use of their own time. However, some of them take advantage of the freedom to play day and night, leaving their studies behind. A survey conducted by China Youth Daily shows that more than half of college students had little time to play when they were kids. In China, parents pay a lot of attention to the education of their children, who end up spending most of the day studying at school and at home. On top of that, children are forced to join extra-curriculum classes to study English, painting, music instruments and others. As a result, most kids have little time to enjoy their childhood. The newspaper cites an educator as saying that some college students want to gain back the free time lost in their childhood by over-playing in colleges. In view of this situation, the newspaper calls on parents to give their children sufficient time to enjoy themselves. It stresses that playing is essential to the overall development of young kids.
